1 week paragliding safety (SIV) and XC flying course
Tailored to the individual pilot's needs.

Start Date: Saturday 17 May 2008
Finish Date: Friday 23 May 2008

Based in world famous Oludeniz, Turkey.

Superb take-offs at 5500ft-6500ft (1700-2000m) AGL/ASL.

For the SIV flights, after a 5 minute glide from take-off you arrive at around 3500-4500ft (1000-1400m) ASL over the bay with incredible views over the Oludeniz coastline. This gives you plenty of height to repeat SIV manoeuvres again and again - which means you rush less and learn far more!

Landing on beautiful white sandy beaches of the Turkish Turquoise Coast next to the warm Mediterranean sea, you can choose to either go back up the mountain for another wonderful flight or relax and enjoy a cool drink over a delicious meal.

There will be a very strong emphasis on the individual pilot on this course, which will be unique defensive-flying style, ???pilot in command??

If you are wondering whether this trip (and course) is the right thing for you, probably the best way to know for sure would be for you to Contact Us and we can talk it over with you.

In summary, you should consider at least the following criteria??

PRICE FOR THE COURSE: ??500 per week

??250 deposit payable to secure place.

THIS INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

- Airport transfers from & to Dalaman (on specified day & time).
- Lectures.
- SIV flight instruction by Carlo Borsattino (over radio).
- Flight briefings & de-briefings - personal & comprehensive.
- Rescue boat with Captain.
- Life jacket hire.
- Transport to take-off on Baba Dag Mountain (10 trips included).

We don't include the following things in the cost of our SIV courses as the cost of them can fluctuate a lot, and we don't try to make any money out of them from you.

- Flights. These are usually around ??180. We find the best price for flights for each trip and then reserve flights for the individual to pay for directly themselves. It is always best if everyone is on the same flight, but we understand this is not always possible as people come from all over the UK. All we ask is that, to minimise unnecessary delays, everyone is at the arrival airport at the same time, or earlier than the main group arrival time for the airport transfer.

- Accommodation. There are many hotels in Oludeniz, from around ??15 per night B&B. We don't include the accommodation in our courses because 1) we can't control the prices hotels set, 2) we don't try to make any money from this, and 3) there are just so many different places to stay in Oludeniz to suit all manner of taste and pocket! We do however strongly recommend that all the pilots in our group stay at the same hotel as us, as this makes the logistics MUCH easier for everyone - especially yourself. We will let you know which hotel the group will be staying at, somewhere inexpensive and conventiently located for the course, in due course once you have booked.

- Turkish Forestry Authority Road Toll. This is an extra, payable for each and every trip up the mountain. It should be approximately ??6-8, payable in Turkish Lira and collected by the truck driver per trip.

NOTES:

Additional transport rides to the top take-offs (1700m-2000m) at Baba Dag Mountain will cost approximately ??6 per trip, plus the Turkish Forestry Authority road toll.

You will need the following equipment for this trip:

Compulsory:
You will need to bring your own: Glider; Harness; Helmet; Reserve (recently and correctly repacked); 2m Radio (working properly and of decent quality) with ability to hear easily and talk in-flight (please test this out on the ground and in flight BEFORE you come on the trip, to make sure it works properly); Speed System (correctly fitted); Aquapac - waterproof pocket for your radio (see our shop); Adequate Travel & Medical Insurance; Flights; Sun hat & plenty of suntan lotion; A sense of humour and adventure!!

Recommended:
We recommended having a GPS for all XC flying, as they are very useful things indeed, but it is not absolutely essential that you have one. If you do have a GPS, make sure you know how to use it! We recommend the GARMIN MAP 76S.

Also:
Drinks system; Shorts, Sandals, and Sunnies!
