Things You Should Know About Us

You should know that all of our Flybubble Tandem Paraglider Flights are flown by highly experienced BHPA Dual Paraglider Rated Paraglider Pilots.

You should also know that all of our Flybubble Paragliding courses are BHPA approved paragliding courses, taught by highly experienced British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association Licensed Paragliding Instructors.

We specialise in highly personalised, expert tuition with very small training groups; a maximum of 4 students per instructor. We pride ourselves in making our services very much tailored to the individual student.

Tandem Paraglider Flight or which Paragliding Course?

If you are not 100% sure you want to go 'the whole flying hog' and fully commit yourself by signing up for either our Five Day Paragliding Course or Ten Day Paragliding Course then we suggest that you first try either a Tandem Paraglider Flight and/or a One Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson or a Two Day Introductory Paragliding Course to see what paragliding is really all about, and whether it really is for you.

If you really can't decide between a One Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson or a Tandem Paraglider Flight, why not treat yourself to a fun-filled package with our 1 Day Paragliding Lesson & Tandem Paraglider Flight Gift Voucher in one!

Tandem Paraglider Flights

Tandem Paraglider Flights are a great way to enjoy the full paragliding aerial experience, without having to first learn how to launch and control the glider yourself; your expert BHPA Dual-Rated Tandem Paraglider Pilot will take care of the launch, flight and landing for you!

With Tandem Paraglider Flights you would get into the air more quickly than with the One Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson and get more airtime, typically around 15-30 minutes (although this can vary, and depends largely on the wind and weather conditions on the day). Our tandem pilots are highly experienced and will always try to make the most of the given conditions on the day and give you the best flight possible!

We also sometimes use the tandem paraglider for ‘dual control’ flying so, if the conditions are suitable, there may be the opportunity for the passenger to hold the controls and attempt to steer the tandem paraglider - but this is totally at the discretion of the tandem pilot.

Although a tandem paraglider flight will not 'officially' count towards getting your BHPA paraglider pilot ratings, they are a great way to experience paragliding for the first time and will certainly be very useful for you when you do your first solo high flights! The experience you would gain from a Tandem Paraglider Flight would certainly help you with your flying if you chose to carry on to do one of our paragliding courses. Many of our students in the past have found that the experience they gained from doing a tandem paraglider flight helped them learn and progress more quickly when they carried on to do one of our paragliding courses.

One Day Paragliding Lessons

With our One Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson you would first start with an introduction to the sport, learning the basics about how a paraglider flies and how to control it; both down on the ground and up in the air. You will then learn how to set up the paragliding equipment and do some ground-based training with the paraglider at the bottom of the hill, practicing how to inflate the wing and handle the paraglider on the ground (this is known as 'ground handling').

You will then learn how to take-off and land safely and, depending on your individual progress and the weather conditions (as always!), you would then possibly move on to doing your first ‘ground skims’ and hopefully end the day with your first short solo flights! Exactly how far you progress will depend on many factors including, for example, your individual ability and the weather conditions on the day. Most people will get their feet off the ground and into the air by the end of the day.

Two Day Paragliding Courses

If you did the Two Day Introductory Paragliding Course then on the second day you would continue from where you left off on the first day, hopefully – depending on how you progress and the weather conditions – moving on to higher solo flights. Almost everyone gets to do their first solo flights by the end of the second day. Some people even manage to progress on to do their first high flights by the end of the second day, if they are particularly good students (with perhaps some relevant experience beforehand) and the weather conditions are particularly favourable.

Five or Ten Day Paragliding Courses

Once you are sure that you want to learn to fly a paraglider properly, and become a fully-fledged BHPA rated Paraglider Pilot, then you have the choice of either signing up for our Five Day Paragliding Course or the full Ten Day Paragliding Course.

Upgrading a 1 or 2 Day Paragliding Course to a 5 or 10 Day Paragliding Course

If you did a One Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson or a Two Day Introductory Paragliding Course with us, the training you did would count towards our Five Day Paragliding Course or Ten Day Paragliding Course.

If you sign up for a Five Day Paragliding Course or Ten Day Paragliding Course with us within one month of completing a One Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson or Two Day Introductory Paragliding Course with us, the cost of the Lesson or Course you did would be taken off from the cost of the course (not including BHPA Membership Fees). You would therefore only have to pay for the difference between the cost of the One Day Introductory Paragliding Lesson or Two Day Introductory Paragliding Course and the Five Day or Ten Day course to upgrade. You would then be credited the extra days difference between the lesson or course you did and the course you upgrade to.
