All of our paragliding courses are British Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (BHPA) approved, taught by highly experienced BHPA Licensed Paragliding Instructors.

We specialise in highly personalised, expert tuition with very small training groups; a maximum of 4 students per instructor. We pride ourselves in making our services very much tailored to the individual student.

All of our tandem paraglider flights are flown by highly experienced BHPA Dual Paraglider Rated Paraglider Pilots.

Tandem Paraglider Flights are a great way to enjoy the full paragliding aerial experience, without having to first learn how to launch and control the glider yourself; your expert BHPA Dual-Rated Tandem Paraglider Pilot will take care of the launch, flight and landing for you!

Although of course you don't learn as much as you do with a One Day Paragliding Lesson or Two Day Paragliding Course, or how to fly solo for yourself, tandem paraglider flights get you into the air quicker, up higher and for longer. Tandem paraglider flights typically last around 15-20 minutes, although this can vary greatly as depends largely on the wind and weather conditions at the time. Our tandem pilots are highly experienced and will always try to make the most of the given conditions on the day and give you the best flight possible!

We sometimes also use the tandem paraglider for dual control flying so, if the conditions are suitable, there may be the opportunity for the passenger to hold the controls and attempt to steer the tandem paraglider - but this is totally at the discretion of the tandem pilot.

Tandem Flights & BHPA Solo Ratings
Although a tandem flight doesn't officially count towards getting your BHPA solo ratings like a lesson or course would, they are a great way to experience paragliding for the first time which is useful for when you do your first high solo flights! The experience you gain from a tandem flight would certainly help you with your flying if you chose to carry on to do one of our paragliding courses. Many of our students have found that the experience they gained from doing an instructional tandem paraglider flight with us helped them learn better, and progress more quickly, when they did one of our paragliding courses.

On our One Day Paragliding Lesson you would first start with an introduction to the sport, learning the basics about how a paraglider flies and how to control it; both down on the ground and up in the air. You will then learn how to set up the paragliding equipment and do some ground-based training with the paraglider at the bottom of the hill, practicing how to inflate the wing and handle the paraglider on the ground (this is known as 'ground handling').

You will then learn how to take-off and land safely and, depending on your individual progress and the weather conditions (as always!), you would then possibly move on to doing your first ‘ground skims’ and hopefully end the day with your first short solo flights! Exactly how far you progress will depend on many factors including, for example, your individual ability and the weather conditions on the day. Most people will get their feet off the ground and into the air by the end of the day.

On the second day of our Two Day Paragliding Course you would continue from where you left off on the first day, hopefully moving on to higher solo flights depending on how you progress and the weather conditions. Almost everyone gets to do their first solo flights by the end of the second day. Some people even manage to progress on to their first high flights if they are particularly good students and the weather conditions are favourable.

Once you are sure that you want to learn to fly a paraglider properly, and become a fully-fledged BHPA rated Paraglider Pilot, then you have the choice of either signing up for our Five Day Paragliding Course or the full Ten Day Paragliding Course.

If you did a One Day Paragliding Lesson or Two Day Paragliding Course with us then the training you did would count towards our Five Day Paragliding Course or the full Ten Day Paragliding Course.

If you sign up for a five or ten day paragliding course with us within one month of completing a one day lesson or two day course with us, then the cost of the lesson or course would be taken off from the cost of the paragliding course you upgraded to (excluding BHPA Membership fees). You would therefore only have to pay for the difference between the cost of the lesson or course you did and the course you upgrade to and you would then be credited the extra days.
