As we are a BHPA Registered School, to do a paragliding course or tandem paraglider flight with us you are required to take out BHPA Membership for the duration of your course (or on the day of your tandem paraglider flight). This is the same for any BHPA Registered School.

Which BHPA Membership do I need?

Which BHPA Membership do I need? Whether you decide to do a tandem paraglider flight, paragliding lesson or paragliding course, you will have to take out compulsory BHPA Membership. Depending on which one you do there are different minimum levels of BHPA membership required, as detailed below:

Tandem Paraglider Flight
Minimum BHPA Membership required: BHPA Day Membership.
1 Day of BHPA Day Membership is included in our price for a Tandem Paraglider Flight.

One Day Paragliding Lesson
Minimum BHPA Membership required: BHPA Day Membership.
1 Day of BHPA Day Membership is included in our price for a One Day Paragliding Lesson.

Two Day Paragliding Course
Minimum BHPA Membership required: BHPA Day Membership.
2 Days of BHPA Day Membership is included in our price for a Two Day Paragliding Course.

Five Day Paragliding Course
Minimum BHPA Membership required: BHPA 3 Month 'Training' Membership.
BHPA Membership is not included in our price for a Five Day Paragliding Course.

Ten Day Paragliding Course
Minimum BHPA Membership required: BHPA 12 Month 'Full Annual' Membership.
BHPA Membership is not included in our price for a Ten Day Paragliding Course.

You can take out more than the minimum BHPA Membership required for each course if you wish.

If you are thinking of carrying on to do the Ten Day Paragliding Course then it can save you money in the longer term to go straight for BHPA 12 Month 'Full Annual' Membership (plus there are also other benefits).

Payment for BHPA Membership has to be made separately, directly to the BHPA (either by Cheque made out to 'BHPA' or by giving your debit/credit card details) as it goes directly to the BHPA themselves.

Please Note: When joining the BHPA for the first time for BHPA 3-Month 'Training' Membership or BHPA 12-Month 'Full Annual' Membership there will be an 'Instructional Insurance Capitation Fee' (IICF) of £15 to pay. Renewal of Membership will not re-incur this charge providing there is no break in membership. BHPA Day Membership IICF is £9.

BHPA Day Membership

Minimum requirement for tandem flights and all courses.
Period: 1 Day
Maximum allowed: 2 days in any 6 month period.
Benefits: 3rd Party Insurance
Cost: £10 (includes £9 IICF)

BHPA 3-Month 'Training' Membership

Minimum requirement for 5 Day Course.
Period: 3 Months
Benefits: 3rd Party Insurance
Includes 3 monthly issues of Skywings magazine.
Cost: £60 (including £15 IICF)

BHPA 12-Month 'Full Annual' Membership

Minimum requirement for 10 Day Paragliding Course.
Period: 12 Months
Benefits: 3rd Party Insurance; Full BHPA Membership
Includes 12 monthly issues of Skywings magazine.
Cost: £104 (including £15 IICF)

BHPA 2 Years 'Full Annual' Membership

A special offer for new members!
Period: 24 Months
Benefits: 3rd Party Insurance; Full BHPA Membership
Includes 24 monthly issues of Skywings magazine.
Cost: £169 (including £15 IICF)

Upgrade BHPA 3-Month 'Training' Membership to BHPA 12-Month 'Full Annual' Membership

Period: From 3 to 12 Months (adds 9 months to BHPA 3-Month 'Training' Membership)
Benefits: 3rd Party Insurance; Full BHPA Membership
Includes 9 monthly issues of Skywings magazine.
Cost: £61 (total cost for 12 months = £60 + £61 = £121)
